Runway on the River Spring & Summer Fashion Show : Brown Sugar Entertainment had its Annual Runway on the River Spring & Summer Fashion Show at the River Market. This fashion show showcased Dillard’s, Moda, Scarlet, Jeanté, Vertige Lingerie, RK Collections, Sophisticated Urban, Bag It Up Boutique, Dime One, Moriah’s, Lou’s House of Design, and Xclusive Locker Room. The two local designers were Natasha Dixon (was also featured in the Designer Choice Fashion Show) and 11 year-old Si’Keyia Burley. This season’s special guests were NBA player Shawn Marion’s mother, Elaine Marion, and Queen V from Hot 96.5. The show was hosted by Mark 'Super Star' Jones (featured on BET Comic View) and Toni Seville from Hot 96.5. On the 1's & 2's was Deja Blu. This year featured a dance performance by the Tidwell Project Ensemble and a live performance of the hit single "She's Bad" from E Dubb. We also provided you with 2009 hair trends that played it to the extremes. We saw hair designs from Urban Oasis Beauty & Barber Salon (501-907-6062), Betty's Beauty Bazarr (501-224-6120), Scarlet Salon (501-221-1191), 4th Dimension (501-562-7933), Goodfellas Barber Shop (501-661-7677 ), Lou's House of Design Salon (501-350-8508), and Nu Creation (501-993-8400). This show also showcased the hottest nail techs in Arkansas from Nailtorious Nail Spa (501-217-9750) and Urban Oasis Nail Salon (501-907-6062). We also showcased the fierce makeup artists- About Faces! There were also local vendors: Lolo's Collections, Mary Kay, XsQuizit Lotion Candles, Roots Grounded Fashion, Exit Realty and Holliwood Collections. To help put together the 2009 fashion trends that are selling in London and New York, and to show you how you can get this same look locally were wardrobe stylists Heather Broner, Tara Suber, Cicily Smith, & Bruce Brown. Networking @ Night ~ November 2008 : BROWN SUGAR Entertainment hosted an event to celebrate "The Change" in the Heart of Da City. It was an event to rejoice about our new President- Barack Obama. And like always Brown Sugar Entertainment wanted everyone to do it with Style, Swagger, and Sophistication!! This was a 2-sided event at 1620 Restaurant. It featured Pinky and Pink Ice from Little Rock and The On Call Band from Pine Bluff. On the other side DJ Outsider Promotions was on the 1's and 2's.This was an unforgettable night in the Heart of Da City. Networking @ Night ~ August 2008 : Brown Sugar Entertainment presented Networking @ Night's first annual “Runway on the River" fashion show that was MC'd by Jazzy P. This show provided you with the hottest, new fall designs, trends, and styles in the exclusive Runway Show located at The River Market East Pavilion. The fashion show featured male and female fashion designs from Jeante, Scarlet, Dime One, RK Collections, Bag It Up Boutique, Xclusive Locker Room, Lou's House of Designs, Impulse by RK Collections and Lolo's Jewelry and Accessories. Queen V from Hot 96.5 helped heat up the runway! Miss Pinky blessed the MIC with her poetry. Hairstyles were provided by Lashonda Sabb Wade, owner of 4th Dimension Salon. Haircuts were designed by Darrell "The Design King". Makeup was provided by MAC professional artists- Tamara, Sybil and Tracey. After the runway show, guests had the opportunity to purchase merchandise displayed during the fashion show from Lolo's Jewelry & Accessories, Moriah's, The Mix and Trinity Apparel and Gifts (TAG). VIP guests were served with an exclusive martini drink called "Brown Sugar-Tini". Networking @ Night wants to help buildup Arkansas communities by giving back! Networking @ Night ~ July 2008 : Networking @ Night with Style, Swagger, & Sophistication presents Hair Show and After Party. This Hair Show featured nail tech, barbers and hairstylists from 4th Dimension Salon, Betty's Beauty Bazaar, Betty's Barber Express, Salon Cedric, The Master's Barbers, Fresh N Tight Arlo's Barber Shop, Kings of Fades and Nailtorious Nail Spa and a delicious cake was provided by Heavenly Creations by Heather. This show allowed people in need of a hairstylist/barber/nail tech to get a sneak peak of their work while enjoying exquisite food and wine provided by 1620 Restaurant. After the hair show stylists and guests had the opportunity to check out our Brown Sugar Vendor room. This room featured vendors from Lolo’s Jewelry and Accessories, DD & B Enterprise (designer handbags), Trinity Apparel and Gifts (TAG) (rhinestones shirts, tanks & aprons) and J White, a local saxophonist. Our very own Korto Momolu currently featured on Bravo's Project Runway came out to enjoy the evening This event gave everyone an opportunity to network with other professionals in a mature but groovy atmosphere.
